I don't want her to be one of 'those' children in school who has to be physically restrained because she melts down when a teacher tells her she can't do something she wants to do. I also don't want her to bristle when she discovers that NO she cannot order a margarita at
Chuy's until she is 21 years old or that NO she may not drink 2 margaritas and then try to drive somewhere.
I want her to hear NO a lot right now but not only so she will respect and abide by the laws written by man but more importantly by the laws written by the living God!
I don't mean the Big 10. I mean the not-so simple 2. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Love others as yourself.
Paul wraps it up,
"The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." Galatians 5:6
Please understand I am writing all this to encourage my own self because in about 6 hours I am going to face her angelic face and hear her sweet giggles and babbles and be tempted to let her do everything she wants and have everything she wants. Those round cheeks are very convincing. Nevermind her six little teeth! Her face could melt dry ice if it challenged her will!
But I will not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time I will reap not just her eternal life but also her abundant life in her Savior Jesus Christ. Galatians 6:9
