Lil Miss Thing decided it would be funny to spill her milk, so Big Miss Mama decided it would be even funnier to ask her to clean up her mess! By Jove! She did it! And thanks to Dada, Eliana knows what, “Oh, oh, missed a spot!”, means! So beware if you are ever cleaning in her presence.

Eli is rejoicing with me that we got the order completed!! And I do mean we. Because while I sew Eliana has to entertain herself and sometimes she would rather I stop sewing!
When I sew…I yada yada yada the Lord is my Shepherd. In case you don’t sew, sewing is a maddening craft! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result…I sew and sew and sew expecting to become a fabulous seamstress!! I guess I’m not insane because I am learning and improving. Glory to God for the art of creating….and for this tiny God-made creation.
Someone has convinced Eliana that black beans are chocolate frosting….
She even likes her animal crackers with beans!

For the record I am not responsible for this dress! My mom made it when Eli was little bitty and now it fits! I love it and I will have to learn to make it because it seems like a great thing to wear on a 95 degree day. Eli is learning to rock this week!

Unfortunately we got ice cream on our pretty dress…fortunately we have Shout!
The prime suspect in the crime is pictured below weeks before the disappearance. Eliana Liz was last spotted with the disk in hand while running through the living room. Upon interrogation, the suspect refused to cooperate and only insisted on her innocence by batting her notoriously charming eyelashes. A reward of 10 animal crackers is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to the discovery of the disk. Ms. Liz is being closely monitored until the disk is found.
Regardless of where Eli decides to go to college, I hope she will enjoy cheering on her parents’ alma mater. And like any good Longhorn lady fan, she is learning that pearls are a part of the package! These are actually the Mervyn’s pearls my mom bought me for my 7th grade dance! In which no boy asked me to dance! Boo hoo! I remember wanting to dress just like Cindy Crawford for the dance. I had my mom make me a black sheath dress. But I ended up looking more like Audrey Hepburn because the dress was actually a boat-neck dress and the pearls closed the deal on the 50’s look. I was the only girl with a black dress! At the time floral dresses were all the rage, but I wanted to be different! Some things never change! This necklace is 17 years old and I love that Eli loves to wear it! I think she will have no trouble getting dances from boys though…
This is my 3rd pair of ruffly blooms I’ve sewn and even though they are pretty laborious, once I’ve ruffled, I just can’t go back! Life is just prettier with ruffles.
Here is a good backside shot of the bloomers. I am now making these to sell at my etsy shop! I am slowly opening my etsy shop again, but this time around I want to sew baby sew! Soon I want to offer these bloomers in different fabrics but for now they are only available in burnt orange.
The lovely Abigail turned 1 last Friday and since she is a ladybug and had a ladybug party…there was only one thing to make for her: a ladybug dress…and tutu…and matching tank top…and bow! This is a picture of the creation process before it got ugly! I am stitching the ladybug spots in place.

Here is the Time Freezer Domestic Goddess Kim! She is joyfully frosting one of her homemade cakes for Abi’s big day.
While Abigail patiently waits for her Mama to finish. Abigail is a Mama’s girl! And she also likes to dress-up. Eliana and Abigail have a lot in common!
Here is the finished chocolate ladybug cake and the homemade piñata full of M&Ms and Snickers!
This cake was my fave. It was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Fortunately we got sent home with cake, unfortunately Eliana and I had to split it.
